Atlanta B — American special premium Tier VII cruiser.

A light cruiser specifically designed for operations alongside destroyers. During World War II, USS Atlanta participated in the Battle of Midway and provided cover for U.S. naval task groups off the coast of the Solomon Islands. On November 12, 1942, during the Battle of Guadalcanal, the cruiser was struck by a torpedo from a Japanese destroyer, followed by several accidental hits from 203 mm shells fired by an American ship. On the following day, the cruiser was sunk on her captain's orders while being towed. Over the course of the war, the ship was awarded five battle stars.

First released for Black Friday 2020 from November 27th until December 4th.

Performance

Atlanta B is identical to Atlanta except for her paint job.

Pros:

Fast main battery traverse speed
Extremely high DPM and shell volume for a Tier 7 cruiser
Very high shell arcs allow to safely shoot over islands
Tight turn radius
Good long range (flak) AA suite
Equipped with torpedoes with good damage and speed
Access to the Surveillance Radar  consumable
The Defensive AA Fire  consumable has unlimited charges

Cons:

Small hitpoint pool and no usable armor, poor survivability
Torpedoes are very short ranged
Abysmal main battery base range, barely better than Atlanta's base surface detection
Poor shell velocity makes hitting targets at range difficult
Low AA DPS with no mid-range aura
Slow rudder shift for such a small ship
Requires several 4-point captain skills to perform optimally
